Barbara Ann Richardson-Benavides

Barbara Ann Richardson-Benavides, cherished and beloved by all who knew her, was born on March 29, 1959, in Houston, Texas, to Lee and Ann Herbert. A life enriched with warmth and love, she passed away peacefully at the age of 66 on January 4, 2026.

Barbara's life was a tapestry woven with family and devotion. She married the love of her life, John Benavides, on March 21, 1997, in Houston, Texas, a union that became the foundation of a loving and blended family. She is survived by her dear husband John Benavides, also of Houston.

Her legacy of love continues through her daughters: Jennifer Thamm McBride, married to Draper McBride of Austin, Texas; Kelly Richardson of Houston, Texas; and Cassie Richardson of Kemah, Texas; stepdaughter, Joell Benavides of Kingwood, Texas. Her sons: Ken Herbert, married to Stefanie Herbert, of Houston, Texas, and her stepson John Benavides, Jr., married to Lehla Benavides, of Baytown, Texas all who will forever cherish her memory.

Barbara's heart was large enough to embrace thirteen grandchildren: Garrett Herbert, Paxton Herbert, Zaiden McBride, Eden McBride, Raine Garcia, Summer Garcia, Kai Murphy, Hadley Murphy, John Benavides III, Zaida Benavides, Blake Green, Emily Green, and Weylyn Benavides, all of whom she cherished deeply.

In the hearts of those who loved her, the memory of Barbara remains as a beacon of light and love, guiding and inspiring those who were blessed to know her.
