Bernardo Garcia

Bernardo married Rita Cloud on September 2, 1978, in Houston, Texas. A beloved and cherished husband, father, grandfather, and brother, Bernardo will be remembered for the steady presence he brought to those who knew him and the care he showed in the ways he lived each day.

For 29 years, Bernardo worked as a baker and trainer for Luby’s Cafeteria before retiring. His dedication to his craft and his willingness to teach others reflected a life grounded in hard work, patience, and pride in doing things well.

Bernardo found joy in gardening, baking, fishing, and spending time with family—simple pleasures that became lasting memories for those closest to him.

He is survived by his spouse, Rita Garcia; his daughter, Nichole Lilley and Bobby Lilley of Atascocita, Texas; and his son, Vincent Garcia and Mary Anne Garcia of Conroe, Texas. He is also survived by his sisters, Guillermina Garcia, Gloria Garcia, Juana Garcia, and Carmen Garcia; and his brother, Jose Garcia. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Jacob Anthony Lilley, Gabriella Emma Lilley, and Joshua Nicholas Garcia. He is also survived by his nieces, Tracy Cloud, Caitlyn Cloud, Kimberly Gonzalez, and Yariah Garcia.

He was preceded in death by his parents, J. Isabel Garcia and Julia Garcia; his sibling, Guadalupe Garcia and his niece, Kimberly Cloud.
