She was born in Houston on July 15, 1946. Raised by her loving parents Arthur and Luberta Hall. BJ was a proud graduate of Wheatley High School.
She was married to Calvin Smith both sharing almost 60 years together in matrimony. BJ spent her career with Southwestern Bell (now AT&T) until her retirement in 2001. She served her church, Willing Workers as a member of the Senior Saints. BJ was a big fan of Prince and all things purple.
BJ was known for her love of not only her family, but also “adopting” family throughout her life. There was not a family event that she was not going to make food and a stack of desserts for. She was not going to forget a birthday. BJ would always help a family member or friend in need.
