Cheyenne Alexis Winfield Luckey passed away on Thursday, December 9th, 2021 just shy of turning 23. Cheyenne was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, but grew up in Houston, TX where her family relocated in 2005. Cheyenne married her high school sweetheart Christopher Jordan Luckey in 2019. From that bond came one son, her heart, Christopher Jordan Luckey, Jr.
Cheyenne is preceded in rest by her paternal grandfather, Bertrand R. Winfield, Sr.
Cheyenne’s memory lives on in the hearts of her spouse, Christopher Luckey, Sr. and her son Christopher Luckey, Jr.; her parents Bertrand Winfield and Tracey Williams-Winfield; her siblings Ryan Ballard, Ebony Winfield, Taylor Winfield, and Chloe Winfield; and Grandmothers Joann Jones and Beverly Williams. She is also remembered by a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Cheyenne’s infectious smile, inquisitive mind, and no-nonsense personality will be cherished and terribly missed. For the 22 years we were blessed with her presence, she was a beautiful soul with an artistic spirit. Her parents nurtured that creative side from an early age, encouraging her self-expression through visual arts. By middle school, she was sketching her own clothing and shoe designs, as well as drawing black and white and color portraits. In high school, her artistic endeavors took a slightly different turn as she developed skill in hair and make-up artistry that continued to evolve after graduating.
Cheyenne was very family oriented and enjoyed spending time and participating in activities with her siblings, even when they lived in different cities. Some of her happiest times were when they could all arrange to be together in one place, even for just a few days.
The greatest joy of her life was giving birth to her son CJ. She was a devoted mother who doted on him constantly and worked tirelessly to give him everything he needed to grow and thrive.
