

Daniel Tingman Wong “gong gong”, age 87, of Spring, Texas passed away on Monday, April 28, 2025 with his loving wife Melody by his side. Daniel was born on February 14th, 1938 in Guangzhou, Guangdong, China to Alice Wong and Nathaniel Shih-Chieh Wong. He was the second oldest of six children.
In 1966, Daniel obtained an Honor degree in Chemistry from the University of Hong Kong. He taught Physics, Chemistry and advanced mathematics for Kowloon San Yu High School in 1963. After immigrating into the US in 1968, shortly thereafter he earned his Doctorate in Chemistry from the University of Arizona, Graduated 1974. Daniel met Melody in June of 1983 at a church in Los Angeles and in August that very year they were wedded.
Daniel enjoyed watching basketball and always had a keen interest in health and fitness. Daniel was also very much a fan of listening and singing along with church hymns while Melody played the piano. He relished visits with the children and the grandboys, and he cherished every moment with his family. Selfless and love would best describe Daniel and his devotion to his family. He had immeasurable love for his parents, siblings, wife and all his children.
Daniel and Melody shared a love that was unparallel to any other. It was an unconditional, profound love that would be shared together for a lifetime, and he loved Melody until the end of his days. Melody stayed by his side and cherished every moment together- in sickness and in health.
Daniel is survived by his wife of 41 years, Melody; children Gloria (Mike); Elizabeth (Kevin); and 4 grandsons Parker, Hunter, Kevin, Kai.
Daniel was preceded in death by his father Nathaniel, his mother Alice, sister Katherine and brother Edmund.
