He was born on April 30, 1933 in Segun TX, to Benigno and Gregoria Moreno. The youngest of the family, Elias lived a long 87 years and accomplished so much in his lifetime. Elias was a US Veteran, who was drafted into service in May of 1954 and served until April of 1962. He was raised in San Antonio TX, where he met and married his first wife Rosalinda. Together they had three children. When she passed, he moved to Houston TX. While living in Houston, he met the love of his life Sylvia, who he was married to for 44 years until the day she passed in 2014.
Elias became a step-father to two girls and together they had two children. He was a hard working prideful man that loved his family very much. He would go out of his way for what he believed in. Elias is survived by his children, Diana Ornales, Thomas Moreno (Melinda), Arlene Basquez (Michael), and two step-daughters Margaret Duenas (Martin), Laura De La Rosa. His grandchildren, Chasity Downey (Matthew), Victoria Moreno-Basquez, Michael Ben Basquez, and many more grandchildren. His great grandchildren, Ava Downey, Olivia Downey, Sophia Elena Camacho and many more great grandchildren were his biggest pride.
Elias is proceeded in rest and went to join his wife Sylvia Moreno, his loving parents, his son Elias Moreno Jr., his daughter Cynthia Mazon, and many family members awaiting him in heaven. Elias will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. He always made sure that there was plenty of food and no one left hungry. He made sure his family had all they needed or wanted. Now he is where he wanted to be most, with his wife. To know that they are reunited gives us a sense of peace and comfort.
