Elizabeth Ann Head

Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 12, 2022 at Spring Woods Methodist Church, 1711 Cypress Creek Parkway in Houston. Pastor Steffon Arrington will officiate.

Ann was born in Elkins, WV on August 12, 1937 to parents John Edwin and Monna (Bartlett) Phillips. They preceded her in death.

On June 4, 1960 Ann married Robert Head. They were married for 46 years, until his passing on October 9, 2006.

She is survived by her children – Rick Head and his spouse Mary Head, and Greg Head. Her grandchildren – Zachary Head, Madison Dalpe and her spouse Jared Dalpe, Alyssa Head, and K. Head – also survive their Gammy.

Ann attended Potomac State. She worked in a secretarial position at Teague Middle School in Houston, TX, where she worked for many years. In Houston, after retirement, she was a member of Spring Woods Methodist Church, where she took on many roles. She was a greeter and assister with communion; additionally, she was a member of United Methodist Women and the Lee Bible Class. She also worked on her neighborhood newsletter for many years.

Ann found joy in time spent with her friends and family and her independence, which she retained until the end. She loved traveling to her family home in Philippi, WV and keeping the home in good shape. Ann also was an excellent cook and proud of it; her cooking at holiday meals was always a delight. She thoroughly enjoyed shoe shopping and finding sales, which she was particularly adept at. She liked to crochet and made many prayer shawls for her church as well as many blankets that still keep her family members warm and that they treasure.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society or Montgomery County Women’s Shelter.
