Eloise Long-Red

Eloise Long-Red was born August 22, 1945, to Thelma Warfield and Tom Clay in Natchez, Mississippi. She was raised in Saint Joseph, Louisiana. In 1965, Eloise married the late William L. Long. They lived in San Diego, California for over 30 years and had nine children before relocating to Kingwood, Texas in 1996 after his retirement. She would later remarry after William L. Long’s death in 1997. 

In 1998, Eloise met and married Emile Jack (Oklahoma Red). They resided in Humble, Texas until her death. Eloise and

Emile Jack loved each other dearly. She called him “Honey” and was a devoted wife. Prior to becoming ill, Eloise diligently tended to his care. In her last days, she was concerned about what he was eating and if he was resting.   

Eloise was a nurturing housewife who enjoyed singing, cooking, decorating her home, and shopping to keep up with the latest fashions. She loved the Lord and spending time with family. Eloise was patient, kind, and a long-suffering prayer warrior who would check on her family members daily. She laughed and talked on the phone with her sister Virginia every day. She called one of her son’s so frequently that he was teased by his co-workers. Every time his phone rang, the co-workers would laugh and say, “Is that your momma?”

Eloise loved and adored her sisters, her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. A few days before Eloise’s passing, she wept and said she wished that she had spent more time with them. Eloise Long-Red departed this life on September 19, 2020.

Cherishing her memories are her husband, Emile Jack (Oklahoma Red), her daughters Sandra Ray of Kingwood, TX, Carolyn Long, Leticia Long, Angelia Long and Lillie Long of Phoenix, Arizona and Wanda Long of Temecula, CA; her sons, William L. Long Jr. of Buffalo Texas, Robert Long of Escondido, CA and  Tyrone E. Long of Las Vegas, NV; her step-children, Jermaine Jack, Jermany Jack-Dorsey, Judy Jack II, Jason Jack; her Grandchildren Shanice Aiken, Siesha Dees, Fantashia Carroll (Bret), Michael C Ray Jr., D’keem Dees, Kayla Brown (Benjamin), Lillie Tyler Branch, Austin Ray, William L Long III (preceded her in death), Taeya Long, Dorian Carter, Justin Carter, Sinia Carter, Robert E.A. Long, TaRyas Long, Jaylen Mayorga, her Great-grandchildren Kaidence, Jaela, Roland, Ace, Nyla, Oksana, Jackson, Ethan, Orion; her sisters Virginia Tates (John) of Spring Valley, CA, Luella Tucker (preceded her in death) of Saint Joseph, LA, as well as many Step-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.  Also, her bird Angelo and cat Rosie.
