Gregory Joe Wiggins, 67, passed away on July 4, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. He was born on March 28, 1959, in Atlanta, Texas, to William Bobby Joe Wiggins and Jeanette Bruce Wiggins. Greg resided in Humble, Texas.
Greg began his career in the oil and gas industry in 1980 with Getty Oil Company in Sand Flat, Texas, just outside of Tyler. When Texaco acquired Getty Oil, he continued his work there, starting as a Field Technician and advancing to Engineering Technician through steady determination, a strong work ethic, natural curiosity, and self-taught computer expertise.
Long before digital oilfield operations became common, Greg recognized the potential of computers to solve complex operational and engineering challenges. Largely self-taught, he developed the ability to gather, organize, analyze, and automate large volumes of production and engineering data in ways that were uncommon at the time. His ability to pair technology with practical field knowledge made him a trusted resource for engineers and operations teams throughout his career.
Greg completed his more than 30-year career with Crimson Exploration, where he oversaw information systems, communications, and field production operations. He was respected for his quiet intelligence, humility, problem-solving, and willingness to embrace new technology—approaching his responsibilities with consistent effort and pride in doing the work well.
On April 22, 2012, he married Jennifer Leigh Wiggins.
Greg is survived by his loving wife, Jennifer Wiggins; his son, Bobby Wiggins of Conroe, Texas; Brad Wiggins and his wife, Gabby Wiggins, of Humble, Texas; his daughter, Brandi Wiggins of Humble, Texas; and his cherished grandchildren, Julian, Vivian, and Enzo. He is also survived by his brother, Robbie L. Wiggins and his wife, Yolanda Wiggins, of Conroe, Texas; his niece, Heather Hayes of The Woodlands, Texas; and his nephew, Reid Wiggins of Charleston, South Carolina.
Greg was preceded in death by his parents, William Bobby Joe Wiggins and Jeanette Bruce Wiggins.
Greg enjoyed reading and listening to historical fiction, classic rock, and current event podcasts. He liked playing board and card games—especially trivia—and watching Jeopardy! He also enjoyed trying new foods and restaurants with his wife and spending time with his family.
He was a member of Slidell Lodge No. 311, F. & A.M. in Slidell, LA, and a member of Kingwood First Baptist Church, Kingwood, Texas.
