*A Veteran*
It is with deep love and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Hector A. Ornelas, a man of remarkable strength, integrity, and warmth. A proud Vietnam Veteran, a deeply devoted family man, and a pillar of support to those he loved, Hector left an indelible mark on the hearts of everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
In his youth, Hector answered the call of duty to protect his country, serving with distinction in the legendary 101st Airborne Division during the Vietnam War. As an airborne soldier, he embodied the courage, resilience, and unwavering dedication of the "Screaming Eagles." His time in service shaped a lifetime of quiet bravery and profound patriotism. Hector received the Bronze Star while serving his country. He wore his veteran status not as a boast, but as a silent commitment to the values of loyalty and protection—traits that seamlessly carried over into his role as the protector and provider for his family.
Upon returning home, Hector dedicated his life to the true center of his world: his family. He was a deeply loving husband to his wife, Linda Ornelas of 52 years, with whom he built a lifetime of beautiful memories anchored by enduring partnership and love. As a father to his daughter, Bianca O. Lippert, and his son, Hector J. Ornelas, he was a constant source of guidance, patience, and encouragement. He taught his children by example, showing them the importance of hard work, kindness, and standing tall through life’s challenges.
While Hector wore many titles throughout his life—soldier, husband, and father—perhaps his most cherished role was the one he held in his later years. To his four grandchildren, he was affectionately and simply known as “Dah”. Hector loved his grandchildren deeply, and his face would light up with unmatched joy whenever they were near. Whether sharing a quiet moment, imparting gentle wisdom, or celebrating their milestones, Dah made sure each of them knew how profoundly they were loved. His warmth, pride, and playful spirit will remain forever woven into their fondest childhood memories.
Hector's legacy of love, duty, and devotion lives on through those who survive him. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Linda Ornelas; his devoted daughter, Bianca O. Lippert, son in law Matthew Lippert; and his proud son, Hector J. Ornelas. His memory and lessons will be carried forward with pride by his four cherished grandchildren: Hector Santiago, Gabriel, Sophia, and Liliana, all of whom brought immense light and happiness to his life.
