Chencho attended the Texas A&I University and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. He went on to have a career with the Texas Highway Department in Carrizo, Texas, where he worked for 25 years before retiring.
Chencho loved eating flautas and watching sports, and he could often be found lounging on the couch with a remote in his hand. If he wasn’t busy channel surfing, he would surf the internet instead. He was also a proud and loyal member of the Knights of Columbus. In Crystal City, they all knew Chencho. There he was proud to be everyone’s friend, and he would greet them all by name with a big smile on his face.
Towards the end of his life, his only regret was knowing that he would not be able to see his nephew Gino graduate from university. Chencho’s pride for his family was immense, and the love he had for them will live on forever.
Chencho is survived by his brother, Antonio and wife Janie; nieces and nephews, Angelica and partner Pepe, Patricia and husband Victor, Jose and wife Irene, Martin and partner Lisa, and Gino; and his faithful companions, Bonny and Woofy. He was preceded in passing by his parents, Alfonso and Antonia, and brother, Alfonso Jr.
A visitation will be held in his honor on Friday, January 31, 2020 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. inside the Chapel of Calvary Hill Funeral Home, 21723 Aldine Westfield Rd, Humble Texas 77338 with a Rosary to take place at 6:00 p.m. The celebration of life service will commence on Saturday, February 1, 2020 at 3:00 p.m. at Calvary Hill Funeral Home, after which Chencho’s family would like to invite his friends and loved ones to a reception held in the Event Room of Calvary Hill Funeral Home.
Chencho will be laid to rest in Crystal City, Texas, where he will be reunited with his beloved family.
