Jeff was born in Humble, Texas to parents Rita and George Lawson Jr. He grew up in Spring, Texas with his parents and two older sisters, Crystal, and Kimberly. Jeff loved playing sports, especially baseball, and swam each summer in the Timberlane Tigershark swim team. One of his first words was “ball.” He enjoyed summer camping trips at Garner State Park with his family.
In middle school, Jeff played football, basketball, and track, as well as fall and summer baseball. He was on the freshman football team at Spring High School and played baseball on the high school team all four years. Jeff had many friends, was popular, and also a member of the National Honor Society. In freshman year of college, he played on the Texas State University Rugby team. Jeff was a big fan of the Houston Astros and Dallas Cowboys.
Jeff also trained as an MMA fighter, and loved working out at the gym. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and riding his bicycle on trails. He also loved grilling food and making tasty meals. Jeff has three children: Jackson James Lawson, 5, Austin Colt Lawson, 3, and Olivia Rose Thompson, 8 months. He was a loving father and cherished all the moments spent with his children.
He was preceded in death by grandparents: George and Annie Mae Lawson, and James and Dorothy Baldwin, father, George Lawson Jr., and older brother, Trey Lawson.
He is survived by his mother, Rita Lawson, sister Crystal Westcott, sister Kimberly Gore, as well as his children, Jackson, Austin, and Olivia, and nieces Alexis and Daisy Westcott, and Emmalee, Kelsea, and Julianna Gore. He is deeply loved and missed by all his family and friends.
His memorial service will be held Thursday, February 21, at Lake Houston United Methodist Church in Huffman, Texas at 11 o’clock. A potluck lunch will follow the service for all who wish to stay and visit.
