Jeryl Derwin Morgan was born on September 12, 1980 in Corpus Christi, Texas to Jeryl Derwin Harper and Madeline Morgan. Jeryl lived a vibrant life to the fullest in his time here on Earth. He believed in God, practicing and studying the word in his daily life. A wonderful son, father and husband - that's type of man Jeryl was. Jeryl passed away on Monday, October 8, 2018. Even with his weak Heart, Jeryl was a fighter who never let his health condition affect his joy and love for life.
His positive attitude and good nature made him stand out, touching the lives of everyone he met and leaving an unforgettable impression.
He graduated from Westfield High School in 1999 where he played football. Furthering his education, he studied at Brigham Young University in Rexburg, Idaho and ITT Technical Institute in Houston, Texas.
His passion was cooking, where he dreamed of having his own restaurant. Jeryl loved his wife of 13 years and spending time with his family and friends.
To cherish his life, he is survived by his wife Amber Meriweather-Morgan, children Jeryl II, Priscilla, Christian, Makalia and Elijah; parents Jeryl Harper, Madeline Morgan; his "Mawmaw"
Carol Poole; brothers Justin Harper and Phillip Haines; sisters Pasha Angelle and Tiffany Miller; aunts Carol L. Morgan, Carolyn Harper-Turner, Donna Harper-Benton; great aunt Kathy Moore; uncles Curtis Morgan and Mark Morgan, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents Curtis K. Morgan Sr., J. D. Harper and Olivia Taylor-Harper; and sister Kenya Angelle-Moody.
