Joan Roberts

Joan Bradford Roberts, born September 22, 1938, in Harlen, Kentucky, was raised by Dorothy Mae Huckabay and Denver Huckabay. Following complications with her cancer treatment, Joan passed away peacefully at noon July 22, 2013, surrounded by loving family and friends. She is preceded in death by brother DeWayne Huckabay and daughter Catherine Weir Seals. She is survived by the father of her children Leon Weir, son Terry Weir, daughter Tammy Wilkins, sister Marie Lowe, brother Raymond Huckabay, grandchildren Angela Seals, Philip Seals, Elizabeth Lewis, Daniel Seals, Tammy Martinez, Kayla Wilkins, Christopher Weir, and numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Joan is remembered as a women of many talents and interests. She enjoyed singing, dancing, and writing poetry. Joan was proud to be a published author. She also enjoyed nurturing animals, especially dogs. She mothered three beautiful children and was a huge part in the upbringing of her grandchildren. The later years of her life she was known for reaching out and inspiring others by bringing laughter and love into their lives. Her viewing will be Thursday, July 25, 2013, from 5pm-8pm, and her funeral service is 2 pm on Friday, July 26, 2013, at Calvary Hill Funeral Home & Cemetery, 21723 Aldine Westfield Road, Humble, Texas. Burial will follow at Calvary Hill Cemetery.
