31, 1957, the sixth of nine Baker siblings.
She was called home to Our Heavenly Father on June 15, 2018.
No words could ever encompass the lasting mark she left in the days between.
But, if one had to try, they might say this: Joann spoke softly,
laughed enthusiastically, and spilled love over
every person who crossed her path. She was shy and gentle and
strong and determined. She met difficulty with hope, uncertainty
with prayer, and every celebration with a handmade gift basket.
She was a gifted cook, could never have too much popcorn, and
never forgot a birthday.
She was patient, warm, and kind. She was a treasured sister and
aunt, a loyal friend, and a dedicated wife to Freddie. She was
selfless and humble. But she would be quick to tell you that her
children, Sarah and Daniel, were her greatest works.
Above all these things, she was a devoted child of God who lived
and shared the Gospel faithfully and unwaveringly.
Through all things and in all things, she set her sights on
His word:
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not
on your own understanding; in all your ways submit
to him and he will make your paths straight.”
— Proverbs 3:5-6 —
