Joseph Claude Conaway, 53, of Magnolia, Texas, entered into rest on February 14, 2021. He was born in Lima, Ohio on June 26, 1967 to parents Richard & Mary Conaway as the last of 8 children. He was married to Rose Jenkins from 1988 to 2014 and together they raised several children which were the light of his life.
Joe moved with his family to Magnolia, Texas in the early 80's and went on to graduate from Tomball High School in 1985. He studied auto mechanics in high school and started work with Dodge City Dodge in Tomball. He later worked for BJ Services as an assembly mechanic and welder, Felter Video & Records for many years where he trained as a legal videographer, then Joe started his own company called Videos By Joe doing legal videography. He spent the last 4 years of his career as the Repair Manager at Pneumatic and Hydraulic Company.
Joe had many passions in his life. First and foremost was his passion for God, his family and friends. His world revolved his children: Brandon, Cameron and Kaylee. His next greatest passion was BBQing and cookoffs. He was a member of several different cookoff teams that won numerous honors over the years, including winning the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Cookoff twice. He spent many weekends cooking to benefit those in need. One of his favorite was in support of Camp Hope which was for Veteran's who suffered from PTSD. He spent his last day at a cookoff with many of his friends.
When he wasn't BBQing, he spent time at the Deerlease hunting or preparing to hunt. He also enjoyed going to or watching many forms of racing including Nascar, World of Outlaw, NHRA, dirt track or any local races that he could find. One of his favorite experiences was when he did a tandem sky dive a few years ago. Joe several dogs - Gismo, Dusty, and Festus - that were like his best friends. He raised goats for many years and had over 200 goats at one time. He raised other animals including cows and horses.
Joe is survived by his children Brandon Conaway, Cameron Conaway and Kaylee Conaway; grandson Carter Fox; brother Richard Conaway; sisters Penny Musser, Cindy Burge and Sue Franklin; numerous nieces and nephews; God-children Colten Brown and Jeremy Lowry; and brother-in-law Michael Jenkins.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents Richard and Mary Conaway; sister Candy Conaway; brothers Steve Conaway and Dennis Conaway.
His service will be on Saturday, February 27, 2021 at 10:00am at Calvary Hill Funeral Home in Humble, Texas. His visitation will be on Friday, February 26, 2021 from 4pm-8pm at Calvary Hill Funeral Home in Humble, Texas. He will be laid to rest at Calvary Hill Cemetery.

Joe's many BBQ teammates and friends are holding a fundraiser at this celebration to raise money in his honor to donate to the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Rabbit Committee which he was a member of for many years.
Joe was a Good Ole Boy who never met a stranger. He would help anyone do anything. He had a smile that was contagious, a laugh that was uplifting, and was called friend by many. He will truly be missed by all.
