Judith K. Abdelnoor, beloved and compassionate soul, passed away on December 9, 2025, at the age of 90. Born to Arthur and Alice Kelly on January 21, 1935, in Trenton, New Jersey, she led a life marked by faithfulness and deep commitment to her family and community.
Judy, as she was affectionately known, grew up in the embrace of a loving family. In 1955, she married Edmond Abdelnoor on August 27 in Destrehan, Louisiana, and together they crafted a life of enduring love as a devoted housewife for more than 70 years. Her love and dedication cultivated a large and loving family.
Judy leaves behind her cherished husband Edmond Abdelnoor of Houston, TX; daughters Allison Alford (Anthony) of Houston, TX, and Brooke Abdelnoor of The Woodlands, TX; sons Gregory Abdelnoor (Lisa) of Belle Chasse, LA, Craig Abdelnoor (Lanette) of Oak Harbor, WA, Scott Abdelnoor (Maria) of New Orleans, LA, Glenn Abdelnoor of Houston, TX, Brett Abdelnoor of Kingwood, TX, and Ted Abdelnoor of Austin, TX. She was the proud grandmother to nine grandchildren: Kellie, Kyle, Connor, Kerrie, Kollin, Terry, Luke, Tim, and Katy. Preceding her in death were her parents, Arthur and Alice Kelly, her grandparents, George and Catherine Beattie, and her sisters, Mary Alice Kelly and Maureen Anne Mellon.
Beyond her role as the cornerstone of her family, Judy found joy in spending time with her grandchildren, reading, completing daily crossword puzzles, traveling the world and exploring history, cultures and all of God's beautiful creations, and walking in the countryside. She spent serene moments on her back patio overlooking the trees and Lake Houston, nourished by her faith. Her favorite meal was a sirloin steak or lamb with a baked potato laden with butter and white wine followed by scoops of chocolate ice cream.
Judy also committed herself passionately to her community. After raising eight children, she devoted her life to helping others. Her ministries included volunteering with spending time with seniors, feeding the poor, and visiting local prison all displaying her enduring spirit of service.
We wish to thank HomeCare Family, HomeWell and Stone Creek for creating an atmosphere of companionship and love during her challenges with dementia.
