Lawerence Corrie Stephens Jr.

On November 6, 1960, God blessed Lawrence and Bessie Stephens with a rambunctious baby boy who they named Lawrence Corrie Stephens, Jr. in Houston, Texas. Amongst many other names he became known as “Jap.” He was one of five children. He graduated from Forest Brook High School in 1979. Lawrence went on to be a master mechanic and connoisseur of cars, trucks and motorcycles. He later pursued a career in the pilot car industry. Fixing automobiles was not only a job for him, but it was a hobby along with riding horses. He accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Community Missionary Baptist Church. Lawrence was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence Corrie Stephens, Sr., and his stepfather, Henry Brown. On Thursday, July 4, 2019, he went to his heavenly home. He leaves to cherish a multitude of memories, his loving mother, Bessie Stephens Brown of Humble, Texas and stepmother Shirley Hill of Bryan, Texas ; his children Lawrence Corrie Stephens III of Spring, Texas and Mar’Qiesha Stephens of Houston, Texas, and one grandson Taj Pickens.He also leaves cherishable memories with his two sisters, Ilean Stephens of Houston, Texas and Felicia Stephens of Humble, Texas and two brothers, Shannon Stephens of Houston, Texas and Michael Dawson of San Diego, California and a host of step brothers and step sisters in the Houston, Texas and Bryan, Texas areas.
