He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Leon Wheeler, mother Emily Indietta Racker Wheeler, and brother Robert "Bobby" Wheeler. He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Bonnie Kaye Wheeler; his daughters, Amy Marie Wheeler and her boyfriend Kenny Durden, Stephanie Lynn Thompson and her husband Sam Edward Thompson; his granddaughter, Makayela Marie Thompson; grandson, Samuel Louis Thompson; his brothers, Richard Todd Wheeler, David Wheeler and his wife Janice Wheeler; his sister, Emily "Betsey" Schneider and her husband Larry Schneider along with nieces, nephews, family and friends
