She was born on February 26, 1921 in Vandalia, Illinois to Cecil Finis Cheshier and Bessie (Ervin) Cheshier. She married J. Richard Royal on February 27, 1942 in St. Louis, Missouri. He preceded her in death on June 29, 1971.
She was also preceded in death by her grandson, James Rees Royal, Jr., and her sister, Betty Bates.
Mrs. Royal is survived by her two sons, John Royal and his wife, Gail, of Kerman, California; and Jim Royal and his wife, Brenda, of Kingwood, Texas; her sister, Donna Camp of Altamont; her grandchildren, Jason Royal, and friend, Angie, and daughter, Cheyenne; Kimberly Scheu, and her husband, Mike, of California; Justin Royal and Kristin Royal of Kingwood, Texas.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 29, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. at Hohlt and File Funeral home in Vandalia, Illinois. There will be a visitation one hour prior to the service.
Interment will be at Fairlawn Cemetery, Vandalia, Illinois.
