Manuel R. Tavares, age 71, of Houston, Texas, passed away on June 29, 2026, in Houston, Texas. He was born on August 10, 1954, in Valle Hermoso, Tamps., to Jose and Maria. Throughout his life, Manuel was cherished by those who knew him, and remembered for a kind-hearted presence that was steady, sincere, and deeply valued by family and friends alike.

On April 23, 1985, Manuel married Marisa Reyes in Houston. Manuel found enjoyment in cars, racing, and guns—interests that reflected his appreciation the simple satisfaction of time spent doing what he loved.

Manuel is survived by his wife, Marisa Tavares. He is also survived by his daughters, Priscilla Lozano and her spouse Esmundo Lozano, and Paola Tavares; and his son, Manuel Tavares Jr. and his spouse Melissa Tavares. He is also survived by his brothers Nacho Tavares and Pepe Tavares as well as his 6 sisters. He is also survived by his four grandchildren, Larissa Tavares, Emiliano Lozano, Bass Tavares, and Eliseo Lozano.

Manuel is preceded in death by his parents, Jose Tavares and Maria Cruz Rodriguez.

Visitation will be held at Calvary Hill Funeral Home and Cem, 21723 Aldine-Westfield Road, Humble, TX 77338, US, on July 5, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Visitation will also be held at Calvary Hill Funeral Home and Cem, 21723 Aldine-Westfield Road, Humble, TX 77338, US, on July 6, 2026, from 9:00 am to 10:00 am. A Funeral Service will follow at Calvary Hill Funeral Home and Cem, 21723 Aldine-Westfield Road, Humble, TX 77338, US, on July 6, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.
