She worked most of her career at Kroger as a butcher. One of her biggest joys was cooking large meals for friends and family, especially on holidays. Maria also had a soft spot for dogs, especially chihuahuas. Every day both she, and her dogs, would enjoy a morning cup of coffee.
Her biggest love of all was her beloved family. Nothing meant more to her than her family and she would do anything for any of them.
Maria was preceded in death by her son Jose Assuncao, Jr. She is survived by her children Tony Assuncao, Denny Assuncao, and Holly Assuncao-Kent. Her siblings Lurdes Lima, Deolinda Ramada, and Alvaro Moniz. She will be missed by her grandchildren Brandon Assuncao, Krystal Assuncao, Robyn Assuncao, and Scott Lashbrook as well as her great-grandchildren Brady and Kinley Assuncao, Mia Mansios, Farrah and Pharaoh Thompson, Brooklyn Assuncao, Jaylen Richmond, and Wyatt Lashbrook.
A graveside service for Maria will be held Friday, July 21, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 11:20 AM at Calvary Hill Cemetery, 21723 Aldine-Westfield Road, Humble, TX 77338.
