1948-2022 entered into eternal rest at age 73 at Houston Methodist Willowbrook Hospital with her husband at her side.
Marilyn Burnett was born September 10, 1948 in Kingsville, TX, but lived and attended school a short distance away in Bishop, TX. She lived with her mother Emma, father Claud, and sister Iris. Marilyn is survived by her husband Arthur “Art”, sister Iris, and nieces Lisa and Michelle.
After graduating Bishop High School, Marilyn moved to Houston to attain schooling for job skills and to work. While working for a large trucking company she met and married her husband, the computer operations manager for the company.
Growing up Marilyn and her family liked to camp and fish on the lake with their boat. After she married Arthur “Art” Davis, together they continued the camping saga on weekends, holidays and vacations. This started with a tent, which after going through a few freezing camp-outs, a sudden flood-out, a couple of windstorms and a near miss with a large falling tree limb during a sudden storm, it was decided to scrap the tent idea. The move up to a travel trailer that could be pulled with the SUV worked better. This worked out good for a while but with the addition of a family dog, a retriever mix named Butch, it was decided the trailer was too small for three, so an upgrade to a truck and a 5th wheel RV with slide-outs was in the picture. This plan provided more room for three. Besides, upon retirement longer trips was planned, so the larger living space was definitely in order. Marilyn, Art and family dog traveled through 9 states more than once to see different sites in different parts of the various states obtaining many travel pictures, memories and experiences, with most of the experiences good.
Marilyn will be missed, but good to know she is at rest.
