Family & friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Sunday, January 6th from 12 pm to 4 pm in the Calvary Hill Funeral Home and Cemetery @ 21723 Aldine Westfield Rd Humble, TX 77338 for Martha Ruth Suter, who passed away suddenly at home on January 2nd, 2019.

Martha was born & raised in Houston, Texas. She spent the last 21 years working for Brown Sims law firm, where she shared a heavenly view of the Galleria and downtown skyline.

Martha was a dedicated mother first and foremost. She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. She had a vivacious personality and always made people around her laugh, making friends everywhere she went.

Martha was extremely passionate and loving woman who loved to garden and had an amazing green thumb to anything she touched. She was a devoted animal advocate, believing all animals deserved to have a great and better life. If you ever had a need for anything, best assured Martha had it to give and share. She loved her garden wind chimes, like she loved her flower gardens and butterflies.

Martha had a love of books and reading, and when she finished a book, she was eager to share and pass it along or trade. She loved her colorful sticky notes, like she loved her ice cream late night snack. She wasn’t much for sports, but did she love to shop!

Martha was surrounded by many that loved her and is survived by; her mother, Adelee Osburn; her daughter Rachel Suter, wife Melissa Huff and their son David Huff; her son Jason Suter, his wife Katrina Suter and their 3 sons, Zachary Suter, Lucas Suter and Wesley Suter and her siblings, Jan Henson and Tony Daspit.

Martha was most comfortable in her black stretchy pants and a loose blouse. Please honor her by wearing red as it seems to be one of her favorite colors to wear.

Some of Martha’s favorite things in life were rescuing animals, gardening, and reading, so in lieu flowers the family requests that donations be made toa local charity in her honor, like a local arboretum, library or local animal shelter.

My sincere condolences to all the family. Ms. Martha was a wonderful person; very kind and friendly. Independent woman that loved to help others. Very passionate with plants and animals. She had strong love for her family and her dear mother. She loved sweets and always saved a portion for her mom...I remember sharing a piece of cake with her and she told me that she was going to wait till she got home to share it with her mom. I remember complementing her on her hair styles and jewelry.... and her passion for shopping, online or through catalogs. Ms. Martha, you will be missed unconditionally. May you rest in peace in our Lord and Savior's presences.

Martha, you were the first neighbor I met and you always had nice things to say. I know you loved all the animals, I am feeding some of your outdoor cats. I'm not sure I'll feed the raccoons. But i'll keep up your kindness in your memory. I will truly miss you for being a great neighbor. May you rest in peace.

Jason and Rachel,
So sad for the loss of your sweet mom. She left us way to soon.

Martha... I can honestly say it is special to share the title of ‘Mother in law’ to your wonderful son. Thank you for being a beautiful ‘Mother in law’ to my daughter. You are so loved by all you came in contact with and especially by your family. There will be a hole in our hearts that can’t be filled because it only belongs to you. Until we meet again...

Although it was a short time, you, Martha Suter, made quite an impact on my life. From the first day I met you, I knew you were someone special. I will be forever grateful for the life lessons you shared with me; the conversations we had about world travels and being married to the military and just sharing parts of your life with me. Rest in Heaven, my friend. You will forever be missed. I would always joke with you about not running and you’d laugh at me, but I hope you’re running in Heaven now, sharing that great big smile and wonderful laughter with the other angels.

I couldn’t have hoped for, whished for or asked for a better mother-in-law than Martha! She had a wicked sense of humor and a heart as big as Texas. It NEVER should have happened this way. I’ll miss your smile and your laugh. I’m so very grateful that we had you in our lives even though it was way too short. We love you!
