Max S. Woo
October 2, 1942 – November 21, 2018
Max S. Woo passed away at the age of 76 to be with our Lord on Wednesday, November 21, 2018. He was born in Shanghai, China to Henry and Lily Woo on October 2, 1942. He immigrated to America in 1984 with his family. Upon retirement, Max and his wife moved back to Hong Kong. God blessed him with wisdom, selflessness, and generosity to all.
Max happened to be sent to Guiyang, Guizhou by the Chinese government and became very ill due to his heart valve issue. That was when Souva met him and showed compassion and sympathy since he was all alone. She helped nursed him back to health resulting in their eternal love for each other. Max loved anything that is hands-on, like fixing cars, home improvements, and gardening. He had a passion in photography and had a really good eye. In addition, he had an enormous thirst for knowledge: he studied Chinese Herbal Medicine; read plenty about science, nature, history; and never miss any current events. He also loved a good road trip and was willing to travel long distances to experience the beauty of nature.
He is survived by his loving wife, Souva Woo; daughter Wendy and her husband Fr. John Whiteford of Spring, TX; daughter Angela and her husband David Godin of San Ramon, CA. He will be greatly missed by his grandchildren, Elizabeth and her husband Christopher Cline of Conroe, TX, Catherine Whiteford of North Carolina, and Hailey Godin of San Ramon, CA. He is also survived by his sister, Amy Woo of Pearland, TX; sister Betty and her husband Ray Corona of San Mateo, CA.
