Pedro Salazar

Pedro Salazar succumbed on March 24, 2018 to natural causes at the age of 91. He resided in Spring, TX. He was born in Reynosa, Tamaulipas - Mexico on January 17, 1927. His family were parents Andres Salazar (dec) and Altagracia Rivera (dec) which included his sisters Angelica Salazar Rivera (dec), Esther Ramos, his brothers Andres Salazar (dec) and Oscar Salazar (dec).

Pedro was married for over 35 years to Maria Salazar Zamarripa (dec) and had two sons Felipe J. Salazar married to Regina Salazar Mancha and Edward "Ted" Salazar married to Mercedes S Salazar. Pedro was a printer by trade and began his career in McAllen, TX later moving to Chicago, IL where he was employed by Kehoe and Lau for over 20 years. Pedro retired as a tool and dye maker from Illinois Tool Works.

Pedro leaves grandchildren Noemi "Mimi" Salazar (Gilbert), Carlos Salazar, Katarina Salazar, Laura Nunez (Shaw), and Pablo Nunez. Pedro loved and will miss his great grandchildren Aliana Salazar Rios, Isabella Gilbert, Davina Gilbert, Angel Salazar, Sophia Salazar, Carlos Salazar Jr., Isaiah D. Shaw and Ava Shaw. Pedro will be missed by numerous nieces, nephews and friends from Mexico and the United States.

Pedro was an avid reader, enjoyed traveling and great food from various Restaurants in Mexico and the US. He enjoyed the company and walking of his dogs Pepino, Bosco, Thunder, Lightning, Pebbles, Dino, Freckles and Copper over the years.

Services will be held on April 2, 2018 at Calvary Hill Funeral Home and Cemetery. Pedro will be interned alongside his beloved wife Maria in Delores Hidalgo, Guanajuato - Mexico. Our dad will be remembered for the love and encouragement he always had for my brother and I. Our dad is now at peace with Mom. You will be missed by the many friends and family whose lives you touched over the years.
