Ramona Ledesma, a beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away on October 29, 2025, at the age of 90. Born on July 18, 1935, in La Feria, Texas, Ramona was known for her kind-hearted nature and her passion for word search puzzles, plants, and cooking.
She was a resident of Houston, Texas, and will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Ramona was preceded in death by her parents, Felix and Sara Ledesma, five siblings, two grandsons, Benito Hernandez and Reuben David Mendoza, and her ex-husband, Jose P. Hernandez.
She is survived by her loving children: Juanita Villafuerte (Abel) of Houston, Texas; Joseph Hernandez Jr. of San Benito, Texas; Sarita Gonzalez (Jose) of Missouri City, Texas; Sylvia Carranza (Magdiel) of Houston, Texas; and Nina Robey (Steven) of Magnolia, Texas; 13 grandchildren and 21 great- grandchildren.
A visitation will be held at Calvary Hill Funeral Home, located at 21723 Aldine-Westfield Road, Humble, TX 77338, on November 5, 2025, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. The funeral service will take place at the same location on November 6, 2025, at 12:00 pm, followed by a committal service at Calvary Hill Cemetery at 1:00 pm.
Ramona's memory will forever be cherished by those who knew and loved her.
