Richard is survived by his sister, Joan Hooper of Green Harbor, Massachusetts; daughters, Cynthia Powers Moore of Tomball, Texas; Nancy Powers Montgomery of Houston, Texas; and Patricia Powers Johnson of Canyon Lake, Texas; son-in-laws, Ricky Moore, Todd Montgomery, and Chris Johnson; and his four grandchildren, Jason Moore, Alicia Moore, Luke Johnson, and Alyssa Johnson.
Richard was born on August 25,1938, in Boston, Massachusetts to John and Ruth Powers. He served in the U.S. Air Force in 1962. In 1964, he married the love of his life, Patricia Hoffman, who passed away in 2008. He retired to Tomball, Texas, after a career as a refrigerator mechanic.
A memorial service is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. on January 1, 2016, at Calvary Hill Funeral Home and Cemetery. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Richard ’s life.
