

Rosita married Roger Garcia on October 21, 1978, in Houston, Texas, beginning a lifelong partnership filled with love and devotion.
Rosita worked as a Teacher's Aide at Jenkins Elementary School for many years, but her greatest joy came from her role as a mother and grandmother. She was affectionately known as “Grammy” to her beloved grandchildren, and her family was the center of her world. In addition to her dedication to her family, Rosita was an active member of Spring First Church in Spring, Texas, where she found a strong sense of community and faith.
Her hobbies included spending time with her grandchildren, sewing, quilting, and gardening. Rosita’s caring nature and creative talents made her an inspiration to all who knew her.
Rosita is survived by her husband, Roger Garcia, of Houston, TX; daughter Patricia Coleman (Garcia) and her husband Christopher Coleman of Spring, TX; son Daniel Garcia and his wife Michell Garcia of Spring, TX; and son Gilbert Garcia of Spring, TX. She is also survived by her sisters Jane Medina (Luna) and her husband Antonio Medina Jr. of Boerne, TX, Theresa Luna and Mary Figueroa of Houston, TX. Her grandchildren, Elijah Coleman, Aaliyah Coleman, Ethan Garcia, and Isabella Coleman , were the light of her life and will cherish her memory always. She is also survived by her nieces, Sonya Merritt (Medina) and her husband Brad Merritt, Kathryn Cruz (Luna) and her husband Ariel Cruz, as well as nephews Phillip Medina and his wife Casey Medina, and Eric Medina and his wife Marisel Medina. Rosita was blessed with many in-laws, including sisters-in-law Mary & Joe Treviño, Rachel & Fernando Riojas, Guadalupe & George Medina, and Gloria & Joe Silva.
Rosita is preceded in death by her granddaughter Liliana Coleman; brother, Jose G. Tijerina of Los Angeles, CA ; her parents Cleto and Maria Resendez; her grandparents Eusebio Tavares and Ignacia Doria Tavares; her infant daughter, Guadalupe Garcia; and brothers-in-law Jessie Garcia, Joe Garcia, Rudy Garcia, and Robert Garcia.
