On Wednesday, January 9, 2013, Rosita C. Rendon went to rest with her Father in Heaven. Rosie was born August 5, 1946 in Houston, TX. Those who knew Rosie well know she was a hard worker, full of strength, and how very much she loved her family.
Rosie loved life and she always persevered, despite any setbacks or struggles. Some of the things she most enjoyed were music, cooking, baking, gardening, puzzles, movies and going to the beach. Her generous spirit and optimistic nature were two of her best qualities. Rosie always saw the possibilities and the potential lying beneath what others might see as an overwhelming and unworthy mess. Unafraid of any chore or task, she seemed to love the challenge. She could turn any dwelling, no matter the condition, into a comfortable home and any outdoor space of neglect into a garden of fruits, vegetables or lovely yard. Rosie had the “green thumb” and the magic to put a shine on things and uncover treasures throughout her life.
She is survived by two sisters, Jo Ann Cantu and Mary Ann Sanchez and her children Diane Salinas, Rosemary Mendoza, Deborah Smith , Jesus Salas, Michelle Holt, Teresa Rendon and Kristi Adams. Rosie is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, cousins and numerous other extended family and friends. Although Rosie will be greatly missed, may those who loved her find peace in our hearts and take comfort in knowing she is now without pain or suffering. Rosie is resting peacefully and joyously in Heaven and smiling down on all of her loved ones.
