Shannon was born in Paducah, Kentucky on August 23, 1968 and passed away peacefully in her home on July 23. Shannon moved to Texas in 1982 when her mother and father were transferred there. Shannon was a very hard worker and became a manager of a popular convenience store where she stayed for several years until she decided to stay at home with her 3 boys. Later, as the boys grew up, she went back to school and became a dental assistant. She was extremely proud of her accomplishment and worked in a local dental office for a few years. After her mother became ill, she went to work at the hospital that her mother had been a patient at. She was very well liked and loved taking care of patients. Shannon was definitely a people person and had a soft spot for the elderly. Shannon had a heart as big as Texas and a smile that could make anyone’s day brighter. Her personality was larger than life. I can still remember her coming home and telling us about the lady that had no visitors and she sat with her during her break just so the lady wouldn’t be alone. She just had a way with people. A few of her favorite things were reading, riding 4-wheelers, hanging with her dogs, and sitting on her porch with her coke and cigarette as she played games on her phone and talked to her neighbors. She was so proud of her 3 boys and her 7 grandchildren. They meant everything to her and she was so excited every time she would see them. There is one thing that she loved more than anything….her soulmate, John. They were a match made in Heaven. Through all of the ups and downs of raising children and the regular stressors of life their bond was unbreakable and her love for him was unmeasurable. She was taken way too soon but will live in our hearts forever. It is always hard to say goodbye, but we know we will be reunited again when God decides to call us home.
