I really don’t have many words. It’s taken me a minute to even make posts. It still doesn’t feel real. We were only 13/12 in this picture. Time flies for sure. My words aren’t all there yet but just know I love you and I appreciate EVERY moment, memory, argument, disagreement, conversation, dinner, ALL OF IT! It made us …US. My little brother is gone and it still does not feel real. I miss you everyday. Just please look over me, help me make the right choices, look over my shoulder and shoo away all the bad. You had such an endearing quality, which is not seen too often in your generation.

Dear Heather,

It is with great sorrow and sadness that I am sending this condolence, praying that you will accept my sympathy and someday find peace. No one would have ever imagined that Tarik would leave us so soon. No matter what he was going through, he always had a smile and always shared his love. This has definitely been the hardest 3 to 4 weeks that everyone who loved him has been through. I still can’t believe that he’s gone, but if there’s one thing that gives me some type of comfort, it’s these words written in the book of Matthew where it says,   “Come to me all you who are weary and  burdened, and I will give you rest.“. 
I know that we will see Tarik again soon, even though he is  not here with us on earth today.. My prayer for you, as his mother, is that you will try to remember all the wonderful times that you had with him and his brothers, knowing  everything that you have sacrificed to show them all  how much you love them. No one can topple a mother’s love and I know you loved Tarik very much. God bless you, and please study God’s word where you can find comfort and let Him hold you in His arms when you need it most. Like Tarik used to say, “auntie Joanne said she misses you and she loves you”. Now I’m saying the same, “I miss him and I love him”. 
Be strong - Stay strong for Mike and Seth. If you’re not able to do it alone, just know that you don’t have to. Please know that if you want someone to cry with, I’ll be there because I know you would do it for me as well.  Praying for the entire family and sending hugs.

Tarik, had an incredible impact on you Heather as a mum, in his short time here. You always spoke of things you wanted him to accomplish. I remembered a few weeks ago, whilst we sat outside on your patio, talking about things you already had planned for his future. I can still hear you say , no matter what he was doing, no matter where he was, he always took the time to call you to say “Mum are you ok?”Thats shows genuine love coming from a son to a mother!
