Aleyamma Thomas was born on March 21, 1920 to the Kollakkaran family, in Pooyappally, Kollam, Kerala. She was one of five siblings born to Mr.Kochukunju GeeVarghese and Mrs. Achamma Geevarghese.
She was married to the late Mr. K. C. Thomas of the Kuttivila family and they were blessed with seven children together. Ammachi lived a fulfilling life as a loving daughter, sister, friend, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
She was a cheerful person, full of wit, loved to laugh and make others laugh. She played an active role in the St. Thomas Evangelical Church of India, Trikkanamangal parish and its activities, ever since the parish’s inception. Ammachi and Appachen loved the Lord and deeply cared for God's servants, and were eager to host them when they came to minister in the area.
She was a generous, caring, and a compassionate person who loved to serve the Lord by serving others. They instilled godly values in their children that have been passed down through the generations.
Her life was a living example of the Bible verse, Ephesians 4:32 - “And be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ”.
She came to the US in 2008 and spent the rest of her life surrounded by her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Ammachi often prayed over her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, instilling a testament of faith in each generation.
Ammachi is survived by her seven children, ... grandchildren, .... great grandchildren and extended family and friends. We take comfort that she has reached Heaven, her eternal final resting place. Ammachi will always be in our hearts and we will miss her dearly.
