Alma V McCaughey

Alma V. McCaughey died on Monday April 2, 2012 at St. Mary Medical Center in Langhorne. She was 80 years of age. Born at home in Trevose, she was the daughter of the late William M. and Mildred A. Kull Meyer. Alma was a Churchville resident for 45 years; she had previously lived in Trevose. She was a graduate of Bensalem High School.

Mrs. McCaughey was a retired cashier for Shop N Bag in Philadelphia and the O & O Super Market in Roslyn. Alma was a coin collector. She enjoyed crocheting, cooking, gardening and working in the yard.

Alma was the beloved wife of John McCaughey, Jr. for 15 years before his death in 1966. She was the devoted mother of Linda (Ralph) Chairmonte of Warminster, Susan (Tim) O’Malley of Philadelphia, and Carol (Mike) Craig of Trevose. She was the sister of Jack (Nancy) Meyer of Eddington and the late William Robert Meyer. She was the loving grandmother of Melissa Chairmonte, Ralph Chairmonte, Michael Chairmonte, John Chairmonte, Michelle Washington, George Schick, Shawn O’Malley, Christine O’Malley, Kevin O’Malley, Tina Press, Daniel Colacicco, and Tami Seddon: she is also survived by 13 great grandchildren and 2 on the way.

Relatives and friends are invited to her service at 1:30 PM on Thursday April 5, 2012 at the Lamb Funeral Home, 101 Byberry Road, Huntingdon Valley, PA 19006. Friends may call from 12:30 PM until the time of service. The interment will be in White Chapel Memorial Park in Feasterville, PA.
