Amelia Cannon

Amelia B. Cannon died on Thursday, September 8, 2016 at the Pennwood Village in Newtown. She was 85 years of age. Born in Philadelphia, PA she was the daughter of the late Francesco and Bernadette Russo. Amelia had lived in Pennwood Village for the past year, and was formerly a resident of Ivyland and the Lawncrest section of Philadelphia.

Mrs. Cannon was a Register Nurse. She was a graduate of the Episcopal Hospital School of Nursing and received a Master’s Degree from Temple University. Amelia was a Professor at the Chester - Crozer School of Nursing.

Doll was an avid reader and a talented singer. She enjoyed trips to the casinos. Doll was a volunteer with Meals on Wheels and a soup kitchen in Trenton.

Doll was the beloved wife of Ronald Cannon for 50 years before his death in 2012. She is the sister of Frank Russo. She is also survived by many nephews and nieces.

Relatives and friends are invited to call on Tuesday, September 13, 2016 from 9 to 11 AM at the Lamb Funeral Home, 101 Byberry Road, Huntingdon Valley, PA 19006. Her funeral service will be at 11 AM. The interment will follow in Forest Hills Cemetery.
