Ann A. Dillard

Ann Albrecht Dillard was reunited with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, August 5th, 2026, at the age of 83. Born Ann Louise Albrecht on December 14th of 1942, she was the loving daughter of Ralph and Margaret “Peggy” Albrecht (Burgess). Born in Peoria, Illinois, Ann spent many of her formative years accompanying her parents as missionaries in Sierra Leone and Liberia, completing her high school via correspondence with the United States.

Upon graduation, Ann attended Bob Jones University in South Carolina where she received her bachelor’s degree in Home Economics and met her future husband, Raymond Bryan Dillard. Upon graduation she and Ray moved to the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania region where Ray studied for his PhD at Westminster Theological Seminary, and the two started their family. Proud mother to Joel Bryan, Jonathan Bruce and Joshua Albrecht Dillard, Ann frequently referred to herself as “mother bear”, a reference to her fierce defense of her boys as the couple raised them in Zionsville, Pennsylvania.

Widowed at the age of 50, Ann moved to be closer to her aging parents, living in Venice, Florida, for over two decades where she fell in love with beach sunsets and the ocean side hymn-singing sponsored by her local church.

Ann loved the Victorian era, adorning her home and personal dress with nods to an era of greater simplicity. She spent her life in service of others, whether in support of the family while Ray pursued his degrees, raising her boys after his passing, caring for her parents or working as a dietician serving dozens of homes for the disabled, she found her value in near selfless acts of service.

Ann passed peacefully in her sleep after a years long battle with Alzheimer’s and dementia. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Peggy; her husband, Raymond; her younger brother, Ron; and son Jonathan.

She is survived by her older brother, Doug (Prudy) Albrecht, of Englewood, FL; her sons, Joel (Michelle) Dillard of Jacksonville, FL, and Joshua (Abbie) Dillard of Philadelphia, PA; her five grandchildren, Hunter Dillard, Elijah Dillard, Rachel Dillard Quintero, of Jacksonville, FL, and Cecelia and Joshua Dillard of Philadelphia, PA; and her brother in law, Bruce (Tommy) Dillard of Raleigh, NC.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her graveside service which will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at 2:00PM located at Whitemarsh Memorial Park, 1169 Limekiln Pike, Ambler, PA 19002.
