Annamma John

Mrs. Annamma John was born on December 2nd 1938 to Kunchandy Varghese and Aleyamma Varghese, Panchilazhikathu Veedu, Kizhakketheruve, Kottarakara. She was the second among the two siblings. She got married to Late Rev. M. John in 1962 and together they were blessed with four children.

She could have been a teacher with her qualifications, but opted to serve the Marthoma church along with her Late husband, Rev. M. John. She was known for her deep spirituality with unwavering faith and lived a life rooted in prayer and love. She had a quiet strength and warm heart that touched everyone who knew her. She had an extraordinary gift of hospitality, filled with aroma of delicious food and warmth of genuine love. She also enjoyed reading and keeping up with current news along with gardening, and stitching.

Annamma John immigrated to USA in 1995 and stayed with her children since then and later her husband, Rev. M. John joined her as well. She is survived by her daughter Suja Jacob and son-in-law Thomas Jacob, daughter Jaya John and son-in-law Yoogin Lean, son Aby John and daughter-in-law Ansu John, daughter Asha Jacob and son-in-law Jacob Joseph, grandchildren Shiju Jacob, Angel Punnuse, Philips Punnuse, Rachel Jacob, Noble Jacob, Abigail John, Evangeline Jacob and Aaron John, and great grandchildren Lydia Jacob, Axel Yurin, Alethia Jacob, and Ezra Jacob.

She passed away peacefully at age of 87 surrounded by her children and grandchildren. Her radiant smile and gentle spirit will never be forgotten. We will cherish her memories until we meet her again on the beautiful shore.

A funeral service for Annamma will be held Tuesday, August 12, 2025 from 8:30 AM to 11:30 AM at Chrisos Mar Thoma Church, 9999 Gantry Rd, Philadelphia, PA 19115. Following the funeral service there will be a burial at 12:00 PM at Forest Hills Cemetery, 25 Byberry Rd, Huntingdon Valley, PA 19006.
