Betty was born on December 22, 1948 in Philadelphia, to parents, Robert Kirkpatrick and Mae Bonnett. She graduated from Olney High school. She was passionate about books and reading. She enjoyed working with children and became a teacher's aide at Myers Elementary School for many years. She continued her education, graduating from Arcadia University with a degree in Early Childhood Education. Betty went on to establish a career as an Elementary school librarian, working for First Philadelphia Charter School.
Betty loved The Beatles, Tony Bennett and the golden oldies. Ocean City, NJ was her happy place where she loved to walk the beach and boardwalk and listen to the waves. Betty loved her 3 children above all else and was an incredible mother. She shined light onto all who knew her. She was kind, loving and had a hilarious sense of humor.
Betty was preceded in death by her father, Robert Kirkpatrick, her mother Mae Bonnett and her brother Robert Charles Kirkpatrick.
Betty is survived by her ex husband Frank Homza Sr, her son, Frank Homza Jr, her daughter, Lara Homza, her daughter, Stephanie Miley and her grandson, Weston Miley, who was her pride and joy!
A private family service and interment will be held at Forest Hills Cemetery, 25 Byberry Road, Huntingdon Valley, PA 19006
