Candita M. Ambrosiano D'Angelo

Candita “Connie” D’Angelo, 92, passed away peacefully at The Souderton Mennonite Home on January 31, 2017 surrounded by her family after a prolonged illness. . The daughter of Theodore and Amalia Ambrosiano, Candita was born on February 4, 1925 in New York City.

Connie was married to the late Arnold D’Angelo in 1953. They were married for 53 years. A devoted wife and mother Connie enjoyed traveling, (which took her to many countries around the world) gardening, needlepoint and gourmet Italian Cooking. She also enjoyed playing mahjong and bridge . She and her husband Arnold raised their family in New Rochelle, NY. In addition to her homemaking career, over the years Connie was employed at Henri Bendel & the NY Telephone Company , NYC,NY, Vida Home Appliance , Bronx, NY and Jelenko Corp in Armonk, NY . Connie and her husband Arnold retired to Palm Coast Florida and to later St. Augustine Florida before Connie relocated to Pennsylvania after her husband’s passing.

In addition to her beloved husband, Connie was pre-deceased by 7 brothers and sisters (Danny, Clementina, Ida, Elsie, Antoinette, Alma and Nicholas). Connie is survived by her sisters, Linda Finelli of Pound Ridge, NY and Mary Petretti of Wyckoff, NJ. Connie is also survived by her 3 children, Justin D’Angelo and wife Linda of Hatfield PA, Arnold D’Angelo and wife Linda of Easton, CT and Lorraine D’Angelo Nealon and husband John of Medway, MA.

Connie was the loving Gramma to 8 Grandchildren, Justin D’Angelo, Tara Oertel, Tina Cavanaugh, Christina D’Angelo Martin, Jacqueline D’Angelo Giliberti, Michael D’Angelo, Jeffrey Nealon and Christopher Nealon. She was also Great Grand Mom to 3 Great Grandchildren.

A memorial service and Burial will be held at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, NY at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday February 8. There are no calling hours.

A luncheon will follow for family and friends.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a Hospice Organization of your choice.
