Carol Ann Homan Beckett

Carol Ann Beckett (nee Homan) of Southampton, PA went to Heaven on Saturday, May 3, 2013 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Philadelphia, PA on March 2, 1935, to the late Aileen and Frank Homan. Carol graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School in 1954 and received her Bachelor’s Degree from Trenton State University in English Literature in 1996. She married the love of her life, Francis (Scotty) Beckett, in 1954 and they enjoyed 59 wonderful years together.

Carol is survived by her husband Scotty and four devoted daughters, Pamela (Ken) Reid, Linda Lanzetta, Terry (Bill) Nagel and Karen (Keith) Kornock. She is survived by 7 loving grandchildren, Julie, Christopher, Lynn, Kellyn, Lauren, Keith, and Justin. Her pride and joy were her three great grand-children, Ella and Olivia Buchanan, Abigail Kornock, and Emma and Jacob Hartzell.

Carol was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She loved Broadway shows, English Literature, going to the movies and the beach, scrabble with her daughter Linda and reading celebrity gossip magazines. She was a well known and respected parishioner at the Church of the Redemption in Southampton. She had many friends, and she loved her sorority, which formed in grade school and continued throughout her life. Her most important joy, however, were her children and her grandchildren. She lived life to the fullest and was a woman “beyond her time.” Her loving and warm smile, positive outlook on life, shining spirit and contagious laugh and humor will be truly missed by all who loved her.

Services in celebration of Carol’s life will be held on Monday, May 12, 2014 at the Redemption Episcopal Church in Southampton, PA. The family will greet friends from 10:00 A.M to 11:00 A.M. A memorial service will be held starting at 11:00 A.M followed by lunch for all at the church. Burial will be held in private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Carol’s name to the Redemption Episcopal Church at 1101 2nd Street Pike, Southampton, PA 18966.

The family would like to thank all of the wonderful nurses and doctors at Abington Hospital who cared so deeply for Carol.
