

Carrie E. McGill died on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at the Philadelphia Protestant Home. She was 90 years of age. Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Emma Koons. Carrie was a lifelong resident of Tacony and Mayfair sections of the city.
Mrs. McGill was a retired employee of the Pennsylvania Railroad in Philadelphia. While working at the railroad, she met her husband Francis.
Carrie was an active member of Holy Innocents Episcopal Church in Tacony. She taught Sunday School for over 50 years.
Carrie enjoyed traveling and cruising with her husband. They loved spending time in Stone Harbor in the summer.
Carrie was the beloved wife of Francis D. McGill for 39 years before his death in 1997. She was the devoted step-mother of Francis J. McGill (Joyce) of New Hope, , Kathryn Davis (Tom) of Kennedyville, MD, Rita Ferko (Michael) of Warminster, and James D. MCGill (Maryjane) of Langhorne. She was the loving grandmother of Brendan, John, Beth, Tom, Brian, Kevin, Kate, Alison, Dennis, and Patrick; great grandmother of Samantha, Moira, Cassidy, Rayn, Hayes, Maeve, Alexis, Carolyn, Jack, Erika, Max, Mason, Kathryn, Domenic, Lena, Julia, Paige, Conor and Finn. She is also survived by her twin sister Emma Anderson of Mayfair and three loving nieces. She was predeceased by her grandson Christopher and her brother Joseph Koons.
Relatives and friends are invited to call from 11 AM to 12 noon on Monday, October 24, 2016 at the Lamb Funeral Home, 101 Byberry Road, Huntingdon Valley, PA. Her funeral service will be at 12 noon. Carrie’s interment will be in Forest Hills Cemetery.
