Chacko K. Varghese, affectionately known as Thankachen, was born August 15, 1956 to the late Ninan Varghese and late Saramma Varghese of the Kochuparampil Family in Kozhencherry, Kerala, India. He is the fifth child of his six siblings.
Thankachen married Mariamma Varghese (Kunjumol), of the Ayanthiyil Family on November 17th, 1983. They immigrated to the United States in 1994. Together, they raised their children, Mridhul Chacko, and Merlin Chacko. He was a cherished father-in-law to Sophia Chacko and Jason Varghese and grandfather to Mila, Abigail, and Lillian.
Thankachen worked at Cardone Industries until retiring to spend more time with his family. He enjoyed fishing and gardening. He always shared the fruits of his labor with his family, friends and the church community at Christos Mar Thoma Church. He was a very active member of the church. He was always excited to assist with preparing meals and join in fellowship. He was a faithful servant to the ministry as a lay leader and an area prayer group representative. Thankachen’s devotion to prayer and spirituality was one of the main tenets in his life which enriched the lives that were touched by him. He will always be remembered for his pure hearted personality, genuine laugh and love of family.
Chacko K. Varghese is survived by his wife, Kunjumol; his son and family, Mridhul, Sophia, Mila; his daughter and family, Jason, Merlin, Abigail, and Lillian.
