Cherian Thekkecharuvil Koshy

Cherian Thekkecharuvil Koshy, age 73, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania passed away on Friday, August 12, 2022. T.C. Koshy was born on January 23, 1949, to Varkey and Sosamma Cherian at Kalackattu house in Kozhvallur Chengannur, India. T.C. Koshy married Mariamma Koshy on December 31st, 1973. He arrived in the United States on June 11th, 1976 with very little but quickly built a successful real estate business and large family.

T.C. Koshy was the embodiment of “Joy”, his commonly known nickname. He was a dedicated family man who loved hosting family gatherings. He always had a smile on his face and cheer in his heart while cooking in the kitchen, home gardening, sporting Philadelphia team gear, taking road trips, and reading about geography, current events, and history. He had an ever-present optimism and cheerfulness in the face of difficult times.

He is survived by his wife Mariamma, daughter Golda, two sons Jimmy and Jerry, son-in-law Benny, daughters-in-law Sherine and Julie, and his grandchildren Marisa, Michael, Kevin, Christopher, Kaitlyn, Gabriella, and Zoe. His siblings are the late K.C. Cherian, late Aleyamma Samuel, late Saramma Koshy, K.C. Varghese, Annamma Varghese, and Cheriyan Chacko.

A viewing for Cherian will be held Monday, August 15, 2022 from 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM at Christos Mar Thoma Church, 9999 Gantry Rd, Philadelphia, PA 19115. A viewing and funeral service will occur Tuesday, August 16, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, 9999 Gantry Rd, Philadelphia, PA 19115. A burial will occur Tuesday, August 16, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Forest Hills Cemetery, 25 Byberry Rd, Huntingdon Valley, Pennsylvania 19006.
