

Diane Amster (nee Pliskin), age 90, passed away on her half birthday, March 6, 2026, at Ann’s Choice in Warminster PA, where, until recently, she worked as the beloved receptionist for the Memory Care unit.
Diane was born on September 6, 1935 in the Bronx, NY, to Lillian and Benjamin Pliskin. Growing up, Diane was surrounded by and loved classical music and, following college at Temple University, Diane became a musician and music teacher. She played violin and viola in a variety of orchestras and even established her own highly sought after string group—Silver Strings.
Diane was active in a variety of charities. She was very interested in water conservation and went to town counsel meetings in Colts Neck NJ—where she raised her family—when the discussion concerned the water table. She also served in various leadership roles in Hadassah, Ort, and the League of Women Voters.
Diane is survived by her husband of 63 years, Sigmund Amster, her brother, Mark Pliskin, and two daughters, Miriam Amster and Nina Amster (Douglas Leavitt), as well as grandchildren Gabrielle Leavitt, Lindsay Leavitt, and Benjamin Leavitt.
The funeral is on Monday, March 9, 2026 at 2 pm at Roosevelt Memorial Park in Trevose, PA.
