He leaves behind his wife, Mildred Noonan (Wells), sisters Beckie Coleman and Sue Herzberg, and brother Mark Noonan.
Don was 82 years old when he went to be with the Lord May 13, 2025 in Philadelphia, PA. He lived a dynamic life of service and love to all those who knew him. Trained as a Chef while in high school, he worked for Holiday Inn before he owned his own restaurant in San Francisco.
Discovering the pure joy of serving in Christ’s kingdom community, he trained with Youth with a Mission (YWAM) in Hawaii and experimented with techniques to maximize food harvest. He moved to Hollywood in California, joined the ministry of Centrum of Hollywood, running the boys home, providing love and safety for homeless runaways and others on the streets.
In 1986, he married his wife, Mildred, and began training for the ministry, graduating from LIFE Bible College in Los Angeles and received his ordination from the International Church of the Foursquare Gospel. Don loved to read, loved people and thrived on teaching and encouraging all to listen to the Lord’s voice, to know God loves them as a father, created them for a purpose and will guide as they listen. Encouraging pastors and new believers alike, many call him “Grandpa.” He will be missed.
A celebration of life will be held Friday, May 23, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Lamb Funeral Home Inc., 101 Byberry Road, Huntingdon Valley, PA 19006, followed by a funeral service at 7:00 PM.
Everyone is encouraged to leave memories and upload photos to the memorial page. In lieu of flowers, a donation to The Block Church, NE location at 9768 Verree Road, Philadelphia, PA 19115 is encouraged toward the developing “Noonan Library.”
