Dorothy Edna Townsend died on Monday, January 5, 2015 at her residence. Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Esther Linder White. Dorothy had been a Southampton resident since 1950 and had previously lived in Abington Township.
Dorothy was a homemaker. She was a charter member of the Redemption Episcopal Church in Southampton and had knitted numerous afghans for events at the church. She enjoyed bingo, crocheting, and baking.
Dorothy was beloved wife of the late Kenneth Townsend for 56 years before his death in 1994. She was the devoted mother of Dorothy Townsend of Southampton, Gail Oliver (the late William) of Warrington, and Kenneth W. Townsend (Kathleen) of Glenmoore, PA. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to her memorial service at 11 AM on Saturday, January 17, 2015 at the Redemption Episcopal Church, 1101 2nd Street Pike, Southampton, PA 18966.
