Edward Anthony Miller, 85, died peacefully at his home in Margate, Florida on February 9, 2019 after a long battle with dementia. Born and raised in Philadelphia, Ed graduated from La Salle University and Drexel University with a Master of Chemistry. He later worked at RCA Laboratories as a chemist in Princeton, NJ where he earned patents for his research in metallurgy.
He was a devout Catholic and proud Army veteran who shared his love of cooking with his family and friends. When his nose wasn’t buried in a book while eating a handful of M&Ms, he was out on the slopes skiing well into his seventies.
Ed’s loving wife, Irene Miller passed away on January 24th, 2018. He is survived by his daughter Monica Miller and her husband Perry Essig of Singapore, his stepdaughter Mary-Jo Wright and her husband Mark of Margate, Florida, stepson Michael Leakan of Novi, Michigan and stepson Thomas Leakan and his wife Shawn of Somerdale, New Jersey. He was a caring grandfather to Lauren Leakan, Jessica Leakan, Brian Leakan, Shane Leakan, Daniel Leakan and Christopher Leakan, and Bootsie the cat.
Memorial visitation will take place at on Monday, February 18, 2019 from 7 pm to 9 pm at Lamb Funeral Home, 101 Byberry Road, Huntington Valley, PA 19006. A mass in his honor on Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at 10 am at Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, 201 North Pennsylvania Avenue, Morrisville, PA 19067. Internment will take place at Our Lady of Grace Cemetery, Penndel, PA.
