Elizabeth Ann (Bednar) Desaulniers, age 82, passed away peacefully on September 13, 2025, while residing in Arizona. She lived a full and joyful life, bringing laughter, warmth, and comfort to everyone around her. Her family continues to honor her memory and share her stories with generations to come.
Elizabeth was born on May 2, 1943, in Norristown, PA, to the late Salvatore and Josephine (Santangelo) Baldassano. She was the loving sister of Lawrence and (late Elizabeth) Baldassano and Frances and (Jack) Kavalchick. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Richard J. Bednar Sr. and Joseph Desaulniers, who each brought love and companionship to her life.
Elizabeth is survived by her three children: Elizabeth J. Janis ( Matthew), Richard J. Bednar, Jr. (Terry), and Megan M. Cabot (Anthony). She leaves behind her cherished grandchildren Joshua, Corey (Samantha), Brandon(Jordyn), Chloe, Hailey, and Paige, as well as her (7) great-grandchildren. She also embraced and loved the extended family she gained through her marriage to Joseph. She was a longtime resident of North Wales, PA, until she filled her and Richard's retirement dream by moving to Arizona. There, she thrived—building friendships, becoming active in her church, traveling with friends, and even finding love again. Elizabeth had a gift for lifting spirits with her bright smile and playful jokes. She was known for her generosity and willingness to help others however she could.
She found joy in many passions throughout her life, including bowling, traveling, watching movies, and crocheting. She was also a proud member of several church groups, widow support communities, and the Korean War Veterans organization.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Friday, October 3, 2025, from 10:00–11:00 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima Church, 428 S. Main Street, North Wales, PA 19454. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 a.m., with interment at St. Patrick’s Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to REFI Charity (REFI.CHARITY - Senior Rescue, Nonprofit, Elderly Charity), a nonprofit organization that supports senior rescue and elderly care. This charity provided assistance that allowed Elizabeth to remain in her home as long as possible—something that brought her and her family great comfort.
Elizabeth’s legacy of love, laughter, and kindness will live on in all who knew her.
