Born in Philadelphia on October 2, 1924, he attended North Catholic High School. He was a WWII Vet, Normandy, Omaha Beach 29th Division, 2nd wave. He went on to Saint-Lo, was wounded, was then re-assigned to the 95th Division. He went on to Metz. He participated in battles in North France, Central Europe, Ardennes and Rhineland. He was wounded again trying to take the Hitler Bridge on May 3, 1945. He was awarded three Purple Hearts, a Bronze Star and a Silver Star.
He came home and worked many jobs. He was a Teamster truck driver for 40 years.
Francis was preceded in death by his wife, Alberta, his son William and his grandson, Daniel J.
He is survived by his children: Francis J., Joseph (Debbie), Daniel B. (Gail) and Francis J. IV and Donna. Francis is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held at the Lamb Funeral Home, 101 Byberry Road, Huntingdon Valley, PA 19006 on Monday, October 7, 2019. Viewing will be held from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM. Service will be held from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Interment will be in Forest Hills Cemetery.
