Gerald A. Kuhner went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, October 5, 2018, surrounded by his loving family. Jerry was born on December 17, 1936 in Hudson, New York, the son of the late Arthur W. and Lena Mae (Conklin) Kuhner. Jerry was a Langhorne resident for the past fifty-seven years.
He was the beloved husband of Janet M. (Porter) Kuhner for fifty-eight years. Jerry was the devoted father of James A. Kuhner (Jayne) of Morrisville. He was the loving grandfather of Jamie Kuhner. He was preceded in death by two infant grandsons, Jared and Joshua. Jerry was the brother of Joel Kuhner (Marlene) of Tomahawk, WI and the late Wayne Kuhner of Santa Rosa, CA (survived by his wife Lynn).
Jerry was a man of strong faith and was currently attending Grace Point Church of Newtown. Previously, he was a member, Deacon and a Trustee of the Third Reformed Presbyterian Church of Philadelphia. He was also a member of Evangelical Presbyterian Church of Levittown where he served as the soundboard operator. Jerry was an active member on Mission Committees and on the mission fields of West Virginia and Peru.
Jerry had many interests including ham radio operator, archery, hunting, fishing, woodcarving and leather work. He was also a former member of the Trevose Fire Police.
Jerry retired in 1996 from Bell Atlantic where he worked as a Frameman and Switchman for 25 years. Prior to that he worked for PECO. He was a Navy veteran.
The family would like to thank the staff of Chandler Hall Hospice and Right At Home (Jenkintown) for the care and kindness they showed to Jerry during his illness.
Services will be held on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at Lamb Funeral Home, 101 Byberry Road, Huntingdon Valley, PA 19006. Visitation with the family will begin at 10 AM followed by the service at 11:00. Interment will follow at Forest Hills Cemetery, Huntingdon Valley.
